BAD is... Beginner Adult Development

One of the hardest things about being a mother is we’re always a beginner. When we first have the baby we are a brand new mom. Then, just as we think we have it figured out, each phase of growth puts us back into something we’ve never experienced before. What if bad wasn’t just, well, bad? What if BAD was embracing being a beginner, an adult developing into something even more?

BAD Mother? Join the club.

When we become moms, no matter what we do or how much thought we put into our decisions, someone thinks we’re a bad mother.  Where and how we have the baby, what we feed them, how we discipline, etc.

Take just our decision about work - “She’s working full time? Someone else is raising her baby.  She’s a bad mother.”  “She’s staying home full time?  What kind of example is that?  She’s a bad mother.”  “She’s working part time?  She’s half- a$$ing everything.  She’s a bad mother.”

Even if we aren’t getting that external criticism, we sometimes question

ourselves and our own well-thought-out decisions.  The Bad Mother

workshop series helps us first acknowledge those worries of being a bad

mother, allows us to tell our stories, and repair that fracture that happened

when we became a mother.

This is where we step in.

Meet the founders of the BAD Mother Workshop series, Ashley Kletke and Kait Rose.

Ashley is a professional leadership coach, workshop developer, and facilitator with deep experience in leading and coaching individuals and teams, using wellbeing as the foundation for peak performance. Through her work, she helps people, teams, and organizations define their purpose and build strong, engaged, and high-performing cultures.

Kait is a professional musician, author, DONA trained post-partum doula, and founder of a successful online homebirth community.  Kait excels at speaking the truth, putting herself out there for the benefit of others, and guiding people to do the same.

We’re applying our professional experience and expertise in a new way - developing women.  Our intent is to guide you to pursue and discover your purpose as a woman and mother, because you deserve to live a balanced, complete life.  We are two mothers who understand, through our many years of motherhood, what it means to lose and find yourself in the throes of intense parenting.

We get that spending time on yourself can feel so selfish.

There are many reasons we believe making choices that serve you are critical to living the best life you can live. No one can operate from a place of depletion - that is no way to operate! We believe all mothers should feel strength and resolve in their minds and bodies. When you combine honoring yourself, setting healthy boundaries and following your heart’s compass, we believe you can absolutely thrive.

Claim it as your own!

What if we thought about being bad differently? Life is a series of challenges that lead to growth. What if we embraced that growth, knowing we’ll come out the other side stronger?

In the BAD Mother Workshop, you’ll invest in yourself, digging deep to find and uncover compassion for who you were before, who you have become since having children, which parts got lost along the way, and who you want to become. We’re here to help you define your purpose and figure out how to access the incredible BAD mother self you are now, completely.

As BAD Mothers we will move forward by redefining who we are as a whole person, as a mother and all the other wonderful facets of who we are.

Class Curriculum

Embrace the Fracture

We all play many roles in our lives. Becoming a mother adds a big, powerful one, and it often shifts the balance of everything else.

Which roles stepped back when "Mother" stepped forward?

Which parts of you are waiting in the wings for their time to step on stage?

1

Define Your Purpose

Who are you, really?

And what do you want to do with your unique strengths, passions, and energy?

Your purpose is already inside you. We will help you put it into words that will motivate, focus, and energize you.

2

Create a Personal Strategic Plan

Most of us are racing through life, but toward what?

What if you approached your life like the most important business you will ever lead, with clear goals, meaningful stakeholders, and a plan for where you are going next? We'll guide you through creating that, encouraging you to also fit in something BAD (Beginner Adult Development), something you've always wanted to try or experience.

3

Keep the Momentum

This is not about filling a notebook and going back to “business as usual.”

We will help you build habits and a supportive network to keep moving forward, even when the noise of life gets loud.
